Online Product Switch

If your client already has a mortgage with Progressive, it’s easy to switch on their behalf online or by contacting your local branch.  Please see below to check that your client(s) are eligible to switch and read all the information which may be relevant to the case.

Eligibility for switching online

If your client has a mortgage with Progressive and is within 10 weeks of their existing mortgage product ending, you can apply for their product switch online on their behalf.

When you login to the online portal, you’ll be able to see your clients who are eligible to switch. There are a number of cases where switches cannot be done online, so to make it easier for you, you’ll only see eligible cases when you log in. 

You won’t be able to apply online for your client(s) if:

  • The client wants to borrow more money, change term, change repayment method, or make a capital repayment
  • The client bought their home through NI Co-Ownership
  • The client’s remaining mortgage term at expiry date of current product is less than 6 years
  • The client is currently in arrears
  • The client’s property is a let or commercial property
  • The client’s mortgage has three or more parts
  • The term remaining on any parts of the mortgage differ by more than two months

How to submit a product switch that isn’t eligible for online

If your client falls into any of the exemptions above, please contact your local branch. After any additional borrowing has completed, term or repayment method changed, or capital repayment made, you can go back online the following day in order to complete the product switch.

How to submit an online product switch

It’s straightforward to apply for your client’s product switch online. You’ll firstly need to register for our new online portal, after which you can login, retrieve your client’s mortgage, see products available to them, and apply to switch the product.

The illustration and offer are produced at the end of the application before confirming the product switch.

How to register

If you are already an existing Intermediary panel member, please complete the steps below to register:

  1. Contact your local branch, telling them that you’d like to register
  2. We’ll send you an email inviting you to register
  3. Visit the URL in your email within 7 days of receiving it and have your email address and mobile phone number to hand.

Completion date for product switch

The Product Switch needs to be completed 6 days before expiry date of current product in order to ensure new rate is applied to the account.

What happens next?

Once you submit your product switch application, we’ll send your client their new mortgage offer via post.

Your procuration fee will be paid 30 days following completion of the product switch.

Cancellation

A product switch cannot be cancelled once it has been submitted. If changes are required prior to the new product starting, the borrower(s) should contact our Online Support Team on 0800 0294 997. Our lines are open Monday-Friday 9am – 7pm, and on Saturday 9:30am – 12noon.
